Fresh from a 2009 Edinburgh Comedy Awards nomination (Best Newcomer) and a critically acclaimed sell-out run at this year's Fringe Kevin Bridges, Scotland's 'young comedy prodigy' (Guardian) is set to record his debut DVD this May at the 10,000 seat Glasgow SECC arena.
Kevin's recent Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination and his stand out performance on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow (BBC ONE, June/October 2009) have highlighted an exceptional 12 months for the young Glaswegian comic. With his hotly anticipated DVD on the way and a string of high profile television appearances including Live at the Apollo (BBC1), 2010 is destined to be his year.
Kevin's delightfully well observed debut show reveals his inner-most thoughts on a variety of topics from his home-land of Scotland to the world beyond. His unique brand of social commentary, astute observations and sharp one-liners arguably make him the hottest act to come out of Scotland in the last ten years.
Kevin had not set foot in a comedy club before his first open mic spot in 2004. Now aged just 22, Kevin's natural gift for comedy make him a regular at major comedy clubs up and down the country including The Comedy Store and The Glee Club. His critically acclaimed debut solo show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival has led him to become a festival favourite selling out consecutive shows for the past three years.
As well as an outstanding appearance on the first episode of Michael McIntyre's Comedy
Roadshow (BBC ONE) this June (repeated in October), his other television credits include: 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), The World Stands Up (Comedy Central) and his upcoming appearance on BBC1's Live at the Apollo. His work on the radio includes 4 at the Fringe (BBC Radio 4), Serious About Comedy (BBC Radio 7), The Fred Macaulay Show and Off The Ball (both BBC Radio Scotland).
